Pneumatic ball valve is a widely used universal valve in valves, with large usage and fast consumption. Therefore, reasonable maintenance can not only improve work efficiency, but also reduce maintenance time and save replacement costs.
To ensure stable performance and long service life of pneumatic ball valves, it is recommended to pay attention to the following factors:
1、 Before use, the pipeline and valve body should be cleaned with water to prevent residual iron filings and other debris from entering the valve body cavity.
2、 When the ball valve is in a closed state, there is still some residual medium inside the valve body and it is also under certain pressure. Before repairing the ball valve, close the shut-off valve in front of the ball valve, open the ball valve that needs to be repaired, and completely release the internal pressure of the valve body. If it is an electric or pneumatic ball valve, the power and air sources should be disconnected first.
3、 Generally, soft sealed ball valves use tetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as the sealing material, and the sealing surface of hard sealed ball valves is made of metal overlay welding. If it is necessary to clean the pipeline ball valve, care should be taken to prevent damage to the sealing ring and leakage during disassembly.
4、 When disassembling flange ball valves, the bolts and nuts on the flange should be fixed first, then all nuts should be slightly tightened, and finally firmly fixed. If individual nuts are forcibly fixed first, and then other nuts are fixed, uneven pressure between flange surfaces may cause damage or rupture of the gasket surface, leading to medium leakage from the valve flange connection.
5、 Pneumatic ball valves remind that if the valve is cleaned, the solvent used must not conflict with the parts to be cleaned and not corrode. If it is a gas specific ball valve, gasoline can be used for cleaning. Other components are generally cleaned with medium water. When cleaning, it is necessary to thoroughly clean residual dust, oil stains, and other attachments. If it is not possible to clean with clean water, targeted cleaning agents such as alcohol can be used without damaging the valve body and components. After cleaning, wait for the cleaning agent to completely evaporate before proceeding with assembly.
6、 If slight leakage is found at the packing during use, the valve stem nut can be slightly tightened until the leakage stops, and cannot be further tightened.
7、 Long term outdoor storage can lead to corrosion of the valve body and components, making it unable to function properly. When storing ball valves, they should be rainproof, waterproof, and moisture-proof, and the flange cover should be tightly covered. Valves stored for more than 12 months should be retested during use to ensure stable performance.
